The 2012 Fleet Optimization Conference will provide an information-packed two-day forum to explore how to achieve gains in ship efficiency.

Clay Maitland, founding chairman of the North American Maritime Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) and managing partner of International Registries, Inc., is the keynote speaker. Other speakers include executives from ABB Inc./BU Marine, ABS Americas, AMARCON, Applied Weather Technology, Blank Rome LLP, Clarksons, ConocoPhillips, DNV, Emerson, Eniram, Germanischer Lloyd USA, Herbert Engineering Corp., IMESA, International Paint, International Registries, Inc., Jeppesen, JetBlue, NAPA, Raytheon, Rolls-Royce Naval Marine Inc., Royal Caribbean International, Saab TransponderTech AB, Swedish Maritime Association, Transas, Wärtsilä, and World Fuel Services.

“We encourage everyone in the industry to attend this important conference and learn how to achieve gains in ship efficiency through practical strategies and solutions, network with their peers, and propel positive changes,” said Frank Soccoli, conference co-producer.

“Ship operators are being squeezed by low freight rates, rising fuel costs, tight credit and high regulatory compliance costs,” said conference co-producer Jim Rhodes. “Reducing ships’ operating costs will be critical to their survival over the next few years.”
